In Memoriam: Pastor Douglas Janetzke

Rev. Douglas K. Janetzke

December 2, 1948 - November 19, 2022

 

Rev. Douglas K. Janetzke (Emeritus) was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, November 19, 2022. Rev. Janetzke served Bethlehem, Roseville (1974-78); Christ, Boyne City (1978-82); St. Paul's Fairmont, Minn. (1982-99); and St. John, Midland (1999-2009). He served on the District's Youth Board, Project Compassion, and was an LWML Counselor. Read full obituary here.

 

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 27, from 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home; 1200 West Wheeler St; Midland. The funeral service will be at St. John's Lutheran Church; 505 E Carpenter St; Midland, at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 28. The family will greet guests starting at 10 a.m. Pastors are invited to vest with red stoles. The funeral will be livestreamed on St. John's Facebook page. Burial will take place at a later date in Illinois.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for the LCMS Joint Seminary Fund (St. Louis, MO), Lutheran Indian Ministries (Brookfield, WI), or to any of the churches where Pastor Janetzke served.

 

Please keep his wife, Marguerite, and family in your prayers.
