pray-for-ukraine-support-picjumbo-com

Some of the women from our LWML approached me saying they had hoped we could do a collection as a church for those in Ukraine.  I love the idea of people giving to help others!  But when we take a door offering or special collection, people are not able to follow up and stay connected with the fruit their gift is bearing.

Therefore, in this case, my preference is to help you give directly to trusted groups who are doing great work on the ground.  This is not an exhaustive list, there are many groups large and small doing work.  If you wish to give I suggest you do some research through Charity Navigator or similar sites which rate charities.  These four I can vouch for and I trust.

1. Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod

If you read on the landing page you will see that our Synod is working with partner church bodies in Ukraine and in surrounding countries to provide direct assistance to those in need.  At the bottom of the articles are links for giving.

2. Pastor Scott Yount - Spiritual Orphans Network

I can personally vouch for Pastor Scott, he was my friend and classmate at Concordia Seminary.  He has been in Ukraine for many years just south of Kyiv in Bila Tserkva working with orphans and the disabled.  He and his wife fled to Slovakia when the bombs began to fall and they are helping evacuate people from there.  From the donation fund drop down menu select - Joy 4 Ukraine - Pastor Scott and Lena Yount - to support their work.

3. Samaritan's Purse

Samaritan's Purse is a large Christian charity run by Franklin Graham (son of Billy Graham) with the ability to place a field hospital almost anywhere on earth, they are heading toward Ukraine right now.

4. Save the Children

Save the Children has been around since 1919 and have 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, and I have given to them in the past, they are currently helping Ukrainian refugees especially in Romania... this is a Charity that focuses on the well being of children.
